Job Description:

As a National Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be the technical resource responsible for helping to build vendor relationships and programs for your supported focus area(s). You will work closely with Inside Sales Representatives and field Sales Engineers to ensure customer requirements accuracy and leverage current promotions to ensure competitive pricing and margin.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide HPE specific Presale’s support globally within ePlus
  • Work closely with National Practice Manager to create relationship between local ePlus offices and local HPE teams.
  • Provide product updates to field when available
  • Provide technical expertise/credibility to account team on designated focus area (HPE)
  • Lead alliance relationship with HPE and other key alliance partners.
  • Evaluate vendor OEM technology and develop offerings that support ePlus sales, services, manage services, and objectives
  • Collaborate, create, and deliver strategic go-to-market campaigns that align with business objectives
  • Establish strong relationships with OEM partners, regional technical and sales leaders, and other business units and foster support for alliance and business objectives
  • Build and execute joint solutions that support cross-technology and integration with Cloud and Security offerings
  • Assist sales account managers with overall account planning, as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity development
  • Assist sales account managers with project management for complex presales engagements
  • Complete technical sections for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses for assigned accounts
  • Assist account teams with collecting customer business and technical requirements and determining ePlus recommended solution(s)
  • Develop solution architecture and detailed line-item configurations/bills of material (BOMs)
  • Develop proposal and/or presentation of recommended solutions
  • Assist with technical scoping/review for Statements of Work (SOWs) for assigned accounts
  • Function as liaison to end-user customer technical staff regarding solution and implementation specifics
  • Function as a liaison between the sales team and professional services organization to vet solution recommendations and to complete technical portions of the SOW, as appropriate
  • Function as technical liaison and ePlus ambassador with field OEM sales and technical teams
  • Assist ePlus sales team in dealing with customer satisfaction issues surrounding technical aspects of a recommended solution & its implementation or deployment, as needed
  • Assist in developing customer get-well plan, if applicable
  • Assist sales and services management in identifying candidate solution areas for ePlus development or investment
  • Complete training, per development plan, and maintain certifications in accordance with focus area
  • Assist Services Director with helping improve procedures and functions
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for in-process opportunities while out of office for training, vacation, PTO, etc.
  • Conduct customer presentations on ePlus value proposition and technical solution sets for assigned accounts and focus areas
  • Complete administrative tasks (expenses, time reporting) in a timely fashion

Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Datacenter or systems/storage/backup/network engineering, preferably HPE
  • Pre-sales support

Education and Experience:

  • College degree or applicable work experience
  • Three plus years' presales experience
  • High level of knowledge of the following vendor - HPE
  • Two or more years of experience in designing or implementing complex storage, server and network solutions.
  • Certifications in applicable technology preferred

Position Specifics:

The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,000 and $150,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Physical Requirements of Position:

Ability of finger dexterity to be used primarily to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands and / or fingers. Speech ability must be at a level where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing ability must be at a level to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Visual ability must be average with ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. Physical strength for sedentary work with sitting most of the time. May have to exert or lift up to 10 – 20 pounds of force occasionally.
